Daybook for home services.

Carpet & upholstery cleaning, junk removal & hauling, pet waste removal and home inspection: what Daybook does for each one, in that trade’s own words.

Carpet & upholstery cleaning

The CRM that writes down the dry time.

Daybook runs a carpet cleaning company end to end: a request becomes a booked service call, the work is priced on the doorstep by the room, the flight and the piece from your own price list, and the visit report, the rug receipt and the drying log are filled in on the phone — the fibre, the problem areas, the dry time given. Then the invoice, with GST/HST by province.

The job “Tom Raman — Stain & odour treatment” in Daybook, and its brief: an update from the crew, the access code pinned from the customer’s email, a short summary of where it stands, the key facts, what the customer asked for (each with the message it came from), suggested next moves, what is waiting on us and the next step.

  • The stain that was there before you arrived. The visit report asks whether anything permanent was shown to the customer before the work started, with the spots and problem areas written down, photographs before and after, and a place for the customer’s sign-off.
  • The rug that left the house. The rug intake and release sheet is its receipt: the tag, the size, the fibre, the condition noted at pick-up, the dye-bleed test shown to the owner, photographs at pick-up and at delivery, and the owner’s signature on the condition.
  • The wet basement, and the readings. The water extraction and drying log wants the source, the category, the areas, the equipment left on site and the moisture readings, signed by the customer — and the job is not complete until it is filled in.

Junk removal & hauling

The CRM that quotes by the load.

Daybook runs a junk removal company end to end: a request becomes a booked pickup, the crew prices it at the door from your own price list — a quarter, a half, a full load, a single item — and the load sheet is filled in on the phone: what was taken, where it went, the space left broom-clean. Then the invoice, with GST/HST by province.

The job “Simone Petrov — Cleanout” in Daybook, and its brief: an update from the crew, the access code pinned from the customer’s email, a short summary of where it stands, the key facts, what the customer asked for (each with the message it came from), suggested next moves, what is waiting on us and the next step.

  • Priced at the door, remembered differently on Friday. A crew member you allow quotes from your own price list on their phone — the load size, the heavy items, the stairs — has it signed, and takes payment on the spot. They never see your costs.
  • Where did it all go?. The load sheet keeps what was taken, how much of the truck it filled and where it was sorted to — donation, recycling, scrap, e-waste, the transfer station — with the disposal weight and the dump receipt number when you have them, on the job.
  • The takedown nobody checked first. The demolition and site sheet asks whether the power, gas or water was disconnected first and whether the property line and the neighbours were checked — then where the debris went and how the site was left, with photographs and the customer’s signature. The job is not complete until it is filled in.

Pet waste removal

The CRM that prices by the dog.

Daybook runs a pet waste removal company end to end: a new job starts as a recurring plan, its visits sit on the schedule and keep coming, the scooping day opens on a map in the order you will drive it, and the visit log is filled in on the phone — the dogs, the bags out, the gate latched. Completed visits become draft invoices, by the visit or once a month, with GST/HST by province.

The job “Heather Wilson — Initial cleanup” in Daybook, and its brief: “Work starts Wednesday, October 7”, the access code pinned from the customer’s email, a short summary of where it stands, the key facts and what the customer asked for (each with the message it came from).

Completed visits become draft invoices, by the visit or once a month, with GST/HST by province.

  • Sixty yards a week, and one of them always gets missed. A new scooping job starts as a recurring plan: pick the cadence and the days — a twice-a-week yard is a weekly plan with two days ticked — and the editor counts the visits that makes in the next 90 days before you save. From then on they are on the schedule, and more are added every night.
  • The gate was locked and the dog was out. The gate code and the access notes live on the property and show on every job, and the setup sheet keeps the rest: how many dogs, whether they will be out during the visit, the areas to scoop and whether to text when done. The visit log then asks, every visit, whether the gate was latched on the way out.
  • A month of stops, and the invoices are still to write. Set what a visit bills on the job’s Billing card — per visit, or one invoice a month. Invoices → Bill visits then lists every completed visit that is not on an invoice yet and turns them into draft invoices in one go, for you to review and send.

Home inspection

The CRM that runs everything but the report.

Daybook runs a home inspection company around the report: a request is booked straight onto the calendar as the inspection, with the fee agreed at the booking; the findings sheet, the new-build walkthrough and the ancillary test record are filled in on the phone and kept on the job; and the invoice follows, with GST/HST by province. The report itself stays yours to write, in your own software.

The job “Dermot Ferreira — Pre-listing” in Daybook, and its brief: “Work starts Monday, October 12”, an update from the crew, the access code pinned from the customer’s email, a short summary of where it stands, the key facts and what the customer asked for (each with the message it came from).

  • The booking, the fee and the deadline, in three inboxes. A request is booked straight onto the calendar as the inspection — nobody goes to look first — with the fee agreed at the booking, an arrival window for the client, and the property and its contact on the job.
  • What you could not see, and whether you said so. The findings sheet has a required place for the limitations and what was not accessible, beside the systems walked and how each item was recorded — functional at the time of the inspection, monitor, further evaluation recommended, not inspected for want of access — with photographs against them.
  • The radon monitor, and where it sat. The ancillary test record takes the test, the instrument’s make, model and serial, where it was placed and the day it was placed, with a photograph of the placement — and an ancillary test is not complete until it is filled in.
