Sell Daybook

Sell Daybook in your area.

Daybook is sold across Canada by independent agencies and reps who already call on the businesses it runs — trades, daycares, day camps, clubs and property managers. You find the accounts and look after them; Daybook builds the product, bills the customer, and pays you every month, in Canadian dollars.

Who it is for

An extra line in the bag

Daybook is not a living on its own; it is a line with recurring commission, sold to people you already visit, with nothing to stock.

A manufacturers' rep agency

You carry factories' lines to contractors, distributors and specifiers. The owners you call on run their quotes, crews and invoices on paper or three subscriptions. Daybook is one app for all of it.

An independent rep

You know the roofers, plumbers, painters and builders in your region by name. You sell, you look after the account, and the commission follows you for as long as you do.

An agency in another world

Childcare, gymnastics and rec clubs, day camps, property managers: the same product in each one's own words. You sign for the kinds of business you know.

How it works

From a hello to a monthly payout

Every step lives in the app. Nothing is tracked on a spreadsheet, and nothing is paid on a promise.

Step 1

Apply

Write to us with where you work and the kinds of business you call on. A person reads it and a person answers.

Step 2

Sign, then learn

The rep agreement is signed in the app, by name. The academy — a quiz on every lesson, 80% to pass — opens the selling pages once you are certified.

Step 3

Your link

Every sign-up through your link is stamped to you. Your pipeline, your accounts and your earnings pages follow that stamp; nobody matches sales by hand.

Step 4

The trial

14 days free, no card. Show the owner the app on your own demo business, and build them a real website from the deal page.

Step 5

Paid when they pay

Commission is earned the month the account pays, on the plan’s list price, before tax. An annual prepay earns twelve months at once.

Step 6

Every month

HQ reads every line, approves the run, and pays you by bank transfer with a statement that lists every account and every month. GST or HST on top if you are registered.

What you earn

Daybook's standard terms

Printed from the same table the app uses to set up a rep. Your record carries the terms you sign, and a sale keeps the terms it was sold under.

A rep

30% of the plan's list price for each of the first 24 months an account pays for, then 10% for as long as you look after it. $100 the first time an account you sold pays. A 3-month clawback window.

An agency's override

10% of list on every month its reps' accounts pay, on top of the reps' own commission, for as long as the account keeps paying. Paid to the agency, by the method on its record.

A master agency

An agency that sells with its own people on one schedule: 50% for the first 12 months, then 25% while it looks after the account.

Worked on the Crew plan at $249 a month: a rep earns $74.70 a month for the first 24 months and $24.90 a month after that; its agency $24.90 a month on top. A master agency earns $124.50 a month for 12 months, then $62.25. Every figure is before tax, on list price, when the money arrives.

What Daybook gives you

  • A rep login with your pipeline, accounts and earnings — and nothing of any customer's private data
  • Your referral link and a QR code of it
  • A demo business of your own, re-seeded to the trade you are showing
  • A real website built for a prospect from the deal page, live for two weeks
  • A one-pager for every kind of business, with the prices on it
  • An email alias, click-to-call, and notes written from your voice memo
  • The academy, and an assistant that answers from the app's own material
  • Support questions from your accounts, routed to you

What you bring

  • Your own time, travel and trade shows — commission only, no retainer, no draw
  • A named person Daybook can reach
  • A reply within one business day to an account that asks for help
  • A check-in with each owner at least once a year
  • Canada's anti-spam and telemarketing rules kept — the app puts the footer and the do-not-call list in your hands
  • Daybook's published prices, and nothing the app does not do

Territory

Provinces, postal areas, kinds of business

Your record names the provinces and postal areas you work and the kinds of business you sell to. They guide where leads are sent; they are not exclusive to start with. Exclusivity in a province is earned: a 90-day pilot first, then exclusivity with minimums agreed together from the pilot's own numbers, reviewed every six months. Sign-ups that arrive through Daybook's own website, and arrangements with trade and industry associations, stay Daybook's. Quebec waits until the app speaks French.

The fine print

Plain, and in the agreement you sign

  • You are an independent contractor; the customer contracts with Daybook and pays Daybook
  • Commission is earned when the money arrives, on list price before tax; sales tax, card fees and free add-ons earn nothing
  • A refund, chargeback or cancellation inside the clawback window comes back off the next payout, never more than came back
  • The residual continues while you look after the account; if Daybook ends the arrangement without cause it continues for twelve months, or is bought out at a multiple agreed in writing
  • Customer information is used for this work and nothing else; for twelve months after leaving you do not ask a Daybook customer to leave
  • The agreement is versioned and signed in the app; a new version is accepted before you keep selling
