A request becomes a booked half day, the handyman quotes at the door, and the list — every item the customer asked for, ticked as it is done — is the checklist on the job. Daybook speaks handyman.
Handyman work is the fourth service trade Daybook was finished for, and it is sold by the hour, the half day and the item on the list — so the app took the service shape for it: a request is waiting to be booked, not viewed; the visit is a service call, not a site visit; the handyman quotes at the door; and once the call is done the next step is Mark won, with a quote available but never insisted on.
The rest is the trade’s own. Small repairs, assembly & installation, drywall & paint touch-ups, carpentry & trim, seasonal & outdoor and property maintenance as service types; the list, a mount & assembly sheet and a maintenance round as checklists; a starter price list from the minimum call to gutter guard by the foot; and the words on the screen are a handyman’s.
The handyman toolkit.
On top of everything Daybook does for every trade — the full list is here — handyman gets its own tools.
A request becomes a service call
The request chips read To book and Call done, the button says Book a service call, and once the call is done the job’s next step is Mark won — the handyman already quoted at the door, so a quote is there if you want one and never in the way.
The list, as a checklistCrew and up
The list as the customer gave it, ticked item by item; what was not done and why; the materials bought on the way; the hours on site; and what you noticed while there — attached to the job automatically, with a mount & assembly sheet for the TV that has to stay on the wall and a maintenance round for the properties on contract.
A handyman price list, ready to price
Hourly, the half day and the full day on the list, the minimum call, TV mounts and furniture assembly, drywall patches small and large, doors planed and rehung, gutters, pressure washing and holiday lights, the monthly maintenance round and the rental turnover, and the materials bought on the way — a labelled starter list on day one, with your own prices on it.
The unit on the job
Make, model, serial number and fault code sit on every job, filled in or not — the dishwasher, the smart lock or the bath fan on the list, so whoever goes arrives knowing what is there.
Quotes and paperwork in your words
Small repairs, assembly & installation, drywall & paint touch-ups, carpentry & trim, seasonal & outdoor, property maintenance — the service types, the examples and the document preview all speak handyman, down to a quote line that reads Handyman — the list, 4 hours.
AI that knows the trade
The list, half day and full day, minimum call, mount and hang, patch and touch-up, plane and rehang, round and turnover — drafts and job summaries use a handyman’s vocabulary, and the auto-classifier files a landlord’s list as property maintenance, gutters as seasonal, and a list of five small things as small repairs.
The words on the screen are yours.
This is not copy — it is what the app says to handyman businesses, word for word. Most trades see the left-hand word; you see the right.
